Find the Right Gigabit Solution: COAX for Indoor & Outdoor Units

Positron GAM Coax for Indoor Units

GAM-12-C

Positron GAM-12-C 12 Port Indoor unit for use over Coax Cable

GAM-12-C 12 Port Indoor unit for use over Coax Cable

The Positron GAM 12c is a Fiber to the Distribution Point (FTTDp) solution that is typically installed inside a wiring closet. It can support any type of fiber or PON standards by using two (2) 10 Gigabit SFP+ interfaces. Gigabit solutions delivered over Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) are also supported by connecting the 1-10Gbps Ethernet feed into an SFP+ port of the GAM.

GAM-24-C

GAM-24-C 24 Port Indoor unit for use over Coax Cable

The Positron GAM 24C leverages the existing coaxial infrastructure to deliver high-speed gigabit performance over a distance of 2600 feet by using a non-blocking CE 2.0 Carrier Ethernet Core ASIC to reliably deliver managed Gigabit services. The GAM 24C is a fiber to the Distribution Point (FTTDp) solution. Each product comes with two 10 Gigabit SFP+ interfaces to support any type of fiber or PON standards (using an ONT as required).

The ITU-T G.9960 G.hn Wave-2 standard is designed to leverage the existing RG-6/RG-59 coaxial cable to deliver a Gigabit Internet service to each subscriber without the complexity and delays associated with in-building fiber installation. G.hn is increasingly used as an Access Technology by Operators looking to simplify their access network and their backend infrastructure with an Ethernet-like technology that is highly scalable without some of the inherent complexity of DSL-related technologies.

G1000-C

G1001-C G.hn to Ethernet for GAM Coax 12-C and 24-C Pairing

The ITU-T G.9960 G.hn Wave-2 standard is designed to leverage the existing telephone wiring (UTP, CAT-3 or CAT-5/5e) or RG-6/RG-59 coax cabling with an access technology that delivers a Gigabit Internet service to each subscriber at a lower cost and without the complexity and delays associated with in-building fiber installation. G.hn is used as an Access technology by Operators looking to simplify their access network and backend infrastructure with an Ethernet-like technology that is highly scalable without some of the inherent complexity of DSL-related technologies. With G.hn as the Access technology, Operators deliver advanced services such as Gigabit High Speed Residential Internet and 4K IPTV without the high capital and operational expenses associated to a fiber retrofit. The Positron GAM solution is MEF CE 2.0 compliant and is ideally suited to deliver Business Ethernet services in an MDU and/or MTU deployment.

G1002-C

G1002-C G.hn to Ethernet for GAM Coax 12-C and 24-C Pairing

The G1002 series supports the ITU-T G.9960 G.hn Wave-2 standard and is designed to operate over the existing telephone wiring (UTP, CAT-3 or CAT-5/5e) or coaxial cabling and deliver a Gigabit Internet service to each subscriber at a lower cost and without the complexity and delays associated with in-building fiber installation. G.hn is used as an Access technology by Operators looking to simplify their access network and backend infrastructure with an Ethernet-like technology that is highly scalable without some of the inherent complexity of DSL-related technologies. With G.hn as the Access technology, Operators deliver advanced services such as Gigabit High Speed Residential Internet and 4K IPTV.

G1002-C+

G1002-C+ G.hn to Ethernet with POE+ for GAM Coax 12-C and 24-C Pairing

The G1002 series terminates the G.hn link under the control of the Positron GAM, making sure the information transmitted over the G.hn links is protected with strong AES-128 encryption. It offers comprehensive VLAN support as per the IEEE 802.1q standard and the VLAN mode of each port is individually con gurable: Trunk, Access or Untagged.

The G1002-C+ further add support on GigE port #1 for Power over Ethernet (POE or POE+) as per the IEEE 802.3at standard (30W) to devices such as Wi-Fi Access Points, IP Camera or Residential Gateways (RG).

Positron GAM Coax for Outdoor Units

GAM-4-CRX

GAM-4-CRX 4 Port Outdoor Unit for use over Coax Cable

The GAM-4-CRX optimizes coverage in an over the existing wiring infrastructure. Since these GAM devices are Reverse Power Fed by the G1001-CR End-Point devices, they are deployable anywhere, even outdoors where they can withstand harsh environmental conditions. While operation over twisted-pair wiring is always Point-to-Point, operation over a coaxial cabling infrastructure can be Point-to-Multipoint using standard coax splitters. In this mode, a 4-port GAM can serve up to 64 G.hn subscribers with up to 16 subscribers per port.

G1001-CR

G1001-CR G.hn to Ethernet for pairing with GAM-4-CRX Outdoor unit

The G1001-CR G.hn to Ethernet Managed Demarcation Point devices power the Positron rugged IP67 (outdoor and extended temperature) GAM family with support for the ETSI Reverse Power Feed (RPF). Support for RPF facilitates the installation of the GAM outside of the MDU or MTU and in areas where it is not simple or cost effective to install a local power source. The GAM-4-CRX has four (4) COAX ports and can operate when powered from G1001-CR devices. Each G1001-MR or G1001-CR powers a single G.hn port of the outdoor GAM devices.

The ITU-T G.9960 G.hn Wave-2 standard leverages the existing telephone wiring (UTP, CAT-3 or CAT-5/5e) or RG-6/RG-59 coax cabling as an access technology that delivers a Gigabit Internet service to each subscriber at a lower cost and without the complexity and delays associated with in-building fiber installation. G.hn is used as an Access technology by Operators looking to simplify their access network and backend infrastructure with an Ethernet-like technology that is highly scalable without some of the inherent complexity of DSL-related technologies. Operators increasingly rely on G.hn to extend fiber or fixed wireless Gigabit services and avoid the high capital and operational expenses of a fiber retrofit. The Positron GAM solution is MEF CE 2.0 compliant and is ideally suited to deliver Business Ethernet services in an MDU and/or MTU deployment.
